Pregnancy

During
pregnancy

Many changes are happening to your body during pregnancy. Joints, muscles, and ligaments are stretching to prepare for birth. This can cause discomfort in the lower back, as well as, the round ligament and pubic symphysis in the front of the pelvis.

Many pregnant patients feel that some aches and pains are apart of the process, but this isn’t true! Chiropractic can help alleviate the pain of pregnancy and even help with an easier and safer birth.

By keeping your joints and ligaments moving properly, it gives your body the ability to focus on the task at hand, birth!

Webster technique

Dr. Michelle is certified by the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association in the Webster technique. Webster is a great technique for pregnant patients because it provides a full body adjustment with a more thorough treatment on the pelvis and the muscles and the ligaments that are attached.

Pediatrics

Trauma

Minor trauma can start in the womb. There can be added stress on your baby depending on the position they are in utero. Also, the process of giving birth is not always an easy one! The baby is going through the contractions with you and unfortunately, sometimes they need extra help getting out. This can include the use of forceps, vacuum, and extra pulling. All of these actions cause increased stress on your baby’s nervous system.

Pediatric
conditions

Trouble with bowel movements, feeding issues, fussiness, gassiness, spitting up/reflux issues, ear infections and more.

Pediatric treatments

Chiropractic and pediatric treatments do not look the same as adults! There is no “popping and twisting”. We use very light finger pressure and hold the area that needs to be worked on. It is similar pressure to how you would check the ripeness of a fruit or vegetable. It is a very gentle technique and is safe for even our youngest kiddos. Kids can be treated as soon as you feel comfortable bringing them into the office!
